Oryukdo Skywalk works well as a sea-view stop with a short park walk before returning to the city. The small glass platform is not a full-day attraction by itself. It is in Nam-gu and is different from Songdo, Cheongsapo and Haeundae’s X the Sky. Check weather, hours and the return journey first, then choose between a short viewpoint visit and a separate, more demanding Igidae coastal walk.
Make sure you are navigating to Oryukdo
Use 오륙도 스카이워크 and 137 Oryukdo-ro, Nam-gu. Songdo lies on a different coastal area, Cheongsapo belongs to the Haeundae corridor, and X the Sky is a high-rise observatory. Similar sightseeing names do not mean similar transport or visiting arrangements. Share the exact location and Korean name with a driver or companion rather than asking for the glass skywalk in Busan.
There are two views here: the glass platform draws attention to waves below, while the shore-side viewpoints reveal the line of rocky islets. Sea cliffs, caves and wave-worn rock distinguish this coast from Busan’s sandy beaches. The islets overlap from different viewpoints. Rather than insisting on counting six distinct islands, try a few viewing positions and enjoy the changing coastal scene.

General skywalk entry is free. These are day-tour services, not platform admission tickets. Compare the selected route, meeting point, time onsite and substitutions if weather closes the platform.
Seasonal hours and free admission
Usual opening hours are 09:00–18:00 in October–May, with last entry 17:50, and 09:00–19:00 in June–September, with last entry 18:50. General admission is free, and adverse weather can change operations. These are normal operating details rather than a reservation guarantee. Use the skywalk travel-information page for contact details and follow the day’s entrance notices.
Do not target the last few minutes before admission closes; queues, shoe covers and the view itself deserve time. If aiming for sunset, check whether sunset falls within platform hours. Access to the surrounding park does not automatically extend the glass platform’s schedule. A free attraction still has operating rules: a closed entrance is not an invitation to enter without permission.
| Choice | Time planning | Main preparation |
|---|---|---|
| Skywalk and short walk | Roughly 45–90 minutes onsite plus transport | Weather, shoe covers and return route |
| Add Igidae hiking | Reserve a separate hiking block | Route, exits, water and daylight |
| Multi-stop tour | Follow the chosen tour schedule | Substitution and cancellation terms |
Connect from the metro using the full destination
A common approach uses Metro Line 2 to Kyungsung University–Pukyong National University and then a bus toward Oryukdo. Use the Oryukdo SK View apartment area as a bus destination and confirm current stops, direction and departures in live navigation. A final walk remains, so calculate door-to-entrance travel rather than just the metro segment.
If you are already elsewhere in Nam-gu, compare a direct bus with returning to the metro rather than automatically following one standard route. Save the return stop before the visit, especially for an evening departure or tired group. Apartment names may appear more prominently than the translated attraction name in route information. A taxi can reduce transfers, but use legal stopping places clear of pedestrians.
Understand what an organized tour charges for
Independent travel offers flexibility for a skywalk visit and short walk: shorten the stop if visibility, weather or queues disappoint. A tour can simplify a day that also reaches more distant places such as Haedong Yonggungsa, but imposes meeting times and stop lengths. A tour listing that includes Oryukdo admission does not mean the platform normally charges; evaluate the transport and guiding service being sold.
When comparing a tour involving Oryukdo or Haedong Yonggungsa, check the selected route rather than relying on the product gallery. Review date, guiding language, meeting point, meals and cancellation conditions before booking. A tour cannot guarantee entry when the platform closes for weather or safety, so understand possible substitutions. A multi-stop schedule may not suit a long coastal walk, but can appeal to travelers who prefer not to organize the connections themselves.
Wear the covers and leave space for others
Wear the provided shoe covers as directed before entering; ask for assistance if bending down is difficult. Covers do not remove every slipping or balance risk, so walk carefully and do not run or jump. Check the actual entry arrangements for wheelchairs, sticks, strollers and other equipment at the entrance instead of relying solely on photographs.
Move to a permitted viewing position before stopping for photographs instead of blocking the entrance as soon as you reach the glass. Photograph the waves below and the distant islets separately if necessary; there is no need to back toward a railing to fit everything into one frame. Hold devices securely and put away loose hats or scarves. Never cross the boundary to recover something dropped.
A short Sunrise Park walk suits many first visits
For a first visit, combine the skywalk with nearby public viewpoints around Oryukdo Sunrise Park and add only a short walk according to energy. Allow roughly 45–90 minutes onsite plus transport and queues; this is a planning suggestion, not a prescribed duration. If you want to sit, drink water or take photographs slowly, stay longer. A short platform does not require a rushed visit to the whole area.
For a short route, walk from the bus stop toward 오륙도 스카이워크, then use the public viewpoints around 오륙도 해맞이공원 (Sunrise Park), returning by the route you know. The platform provides glass-floor and close wave views; the park suits wider island-and-sea compositions. A gentle visit can finish at a clear park turnaround point. Signs toward 이기대 (Igidae) mark a decision to begin a separate coastal walk rather than automatically extending the short circuit.
Treat Igidae as a separate hiking commitment
Continuing along Igidae is a hiking decision, not an extra ten-minute stroll beside the platform. Check distance, stairs, exits and current closures, and bring water, suitable footwear and enough daylight. Fix both endpoints and the transport from the finish before starting. A visually continuous coastline does not prove every section is open, and returning to the original point may double the effort.
If your group has different appetites for hiking, enjoy the short Oryukdo visit together and schedule a proper coastal walk separately. Visitors with access requirements should ask management about suitable sections in advance; park access does not mean the whole trail is step-free. If weather worsens or a section is closed, use designated exits or turn back. Do not bypass barriers across rocks or slopes.
Have a sensible response to a closure
Wind, rain, snow or maintenance can affect opening. A closed platform does not establish that all nearby coastal paths are safe. If only platform maintenance is involved and surrounding routes are safe, enjoy the permitted viewpoints. If strong wind or sea conditions are the issue, reduce exposure and return to the city. A free attraction is not an all-weather gap filler.
If Gwangalli food or city activities were planned afterward, bring them forward to keep the day coherent. Haeundae, Songdo and Taejongdae are not instantaneous neighboring alternatives and may share the same weather problem. Judge a backup by location and whether it is indoors. The best alternative is somewhere you know how to reach and would genuinely enjoy, rather than another exposed viewpoint found in a hurry.
