First Garden Night Lights Guide: Tickets, Sunset Walk, Unjeong Bus and Parking Entrance

Contents

First Garden’s nighttime illumination is a year-round attraction, not a Christmas-only festival. Christmas dining, magic and candlelight events appeared in its 2025 listings, but a winter 2026 holiday program has not been confirmed.

A light garden, not automatically a Christmas market

First Garden’s appeal is the change from daytime landscaped grounds to an illuminated evening setting. It suits visitors interested in strolling and photographs, but a winter visit does not establish nightly stalls, Santa appearances or fireworks. If a market is your priority, compare dated events in the Seoul Christmas overview.

The garden is illuminated after sunset throughout the year. Winter offers an opportunity to see both daytime and evening scenery without waiting as late, although actual switch-on arrangements depend on sunset and the day’s notice.

Garden landmarks and an efficient walk

Use Tuscany Square, Step Garden, the Flora fountain setting and Zeus wall fountain as landmarks for your walk. These help you orient yourself; they do not guarantee that every water feature runs in freezing weather or that seasonal flowers remain in bloom.

Walk through in daylight to locate the entrance, main square and available dining, then revisit two or three preferred viewpoints after dark. That gives the evening a purpose without repeating the whole garden. Watch your footing near terraces and water features, and keep out of planted or closed areas when composing photographs.

    Ordinary hours, admission and lighting

These ordinary visitor arrangements apply as of October 2026. Recheck prices and hours before your visit; Christmas dining and special packages are separate.

    Item Listed information Practical qualification
Garden hours 10 a.m.–10 p.m., year-round Individual facilities may finish earlier
Ticket sales end 9 p.m. Too late for an unhurried visit
Lighting Page lists 6 p.m., varying with sunset Recheck for the actual winter date
Adult admission KRW 10,000 weekdays; 12,000 weekends/holidays Ride packages are separate
Child admission KRW 9,000 weekdays; 11,000 weekends/holidays Age 36 months through elementary school; individual visitors under 36 months free with proof

An older FAQ or travel account mentioning 5 p.m. in winter is not a guarantee for your date. Check the home page and on-site notice, and use an afternoon arrival for flexibility rather than arranging transport around a single assumed switch-on minute.

Why both Paju and Goyang addresses appear

First Garden sits on the boundary; use the venue directions map to choose your approach: the garden address is 260 Tapsakgol-gil, Paju, while the parking address is 273-9 Tapsakgol-gil, Ilsandong-gu, Goyang. These do not indicate two separate gardens. Select the correct entrance or parking pin.

The operator lists local bus 088 from a stop near Gyeongui–Jungang Line Unjeong Station Exit 2 to First Garden. Another route uses bus 90 from Line 3 Baekseok Station Exit 6 to Bagaewon, followed by a walk. The venue specifically warns of long local-bus intervals. Use the Korean map-app guide for current services, and do not treat wedding-event shuttles as a regular service for garden visitors.

Christmas dining was a separate product

Christmas menus, a magic-show buffet and a candlelight concert were offered in 2025. Posting or promotional dates do not establish daily performances. If similar offerings return, check reservations, meal times and charges separately. Ordinary garden admission does not automatically include dinner or a concert seat.

For a cold-weather break, verify which restaurants are operating on the day instead of relying on an old café recommendation. Tenants and hours change, so keep a flexible dining option rather than making the entire evening depend on one business.

    Families and the return trip

Use the garden as the later part of a day, not as one of several distant light festivals. When adapting the Seoul family itinerary, decide whether children actually want rides before buying a package. A lights-focused visitor does not necessarily need the largest bundle.

The Seoul subway guide covers the rail backbone; evening bus waiting is a separate consideration. Save the return stop and keep your phone charged. Read ticket cancellation terms before buying in uncertain weather rather than assuming rain creates an automatic refund entitlement.

    FAQ

Is this a Christmas-only light festival?

No. Night illumination is part of the year-round garden. Holiday dining and performances are separate offerings.

Is it in Paju or Goyang?

The operator identifies a boundary location with different garden and parking addresses. Use the correct destination pin.

    Does admission include every ride?

No such all-inclusive promise applies. The operator sells separate ride-package options.

Is winter lighting guaranteed at 5 p.m.?

No. The general visitor guide lists 6 p.m. with sunset-related changes. Follow the notice for your actual date.
